Fire Island Pines 40th Anniversary 1953-1993
In 1993 the Pines community celebrated their 40th Anniversary with an elaborate party. A host committee was formed to plan it. Much research and effort went into the event including flags, posters, a journal, memorabilia, and of course the party celebrating it all.
The FIPAP Art Show Est. 1985-1987
Art has always been part of the Pines community. The beauty of the beach has inspired many. In the 70’s it became a melting pot for the creative as designers, artists, architects, and theater people found their way to the Pines.
Mel Fante’s Melbamar Boutique
Melbamar Boutique was the brainchild of Mel Fante. The emporium by the sea and the Bloomingdales of the Pines were many of the names it was called. A boutique for the discerning Pines clientle. Filled with everything unique it was a mainstay in the Pines where one could find the perfect gift.

Art history- Ferron Bell
Artist Ferron Bell was a painter of dreams and whimsy that he realized on not only canvas, but wood and other objects. He was deeply involved in the Pines community and has left a legacy to be cherished and remembered by.
