Fire Island Celebrity history-Priscilla Presley
Priscilla Presley is an American actress and businesswoman who is best known as the ex-wife of Elvis Presley. She was married to Elvis from 1967 to 1973 and was the co-founder and former chairwoman of Elvis Presley Enterprises, the company that turned Elvis Presley's mansion, Graceland, into one of the top tourist attractions in the United States. Her history on Fire Island, however, takes place after their divorce, in the context of another extremely public relationship with model Mike Edwards.
Priscilla Presley and Michael Edwards
A few years after leaving the King Of Rock N Roll in 1973, Priscilla Presley fell madly in love with Michael Edwards. Mike was a top model during the 70s with a checkered career as a U.S. marine. He spent seven years (from 1977 - 1984) with Priscilla and her then only child, Lisa. Their relationship was extremely public and the two were frequently photographed together while traveling the world.

Priscilla Presley On Fire Island Pines
In the 1970s, Fire Island Pines was the go-to place for celebrities on holiday. It was not only a safe haven for gay men to fully express themselves, but the open and lively atmosphere lent itself to high-value indivividuals who wanted to vacation in a beautiful setting away from the stress and criticism of the public eye.
In their 7 years together, Priscilla Presley and Michael Edwards frequently visited Fire Island Pines where they would enjoy wine-filled weekends spent frolicking topless under the summer sun and dancing all night long…
Priscilla Presley and Mike Edwards Break Up
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and in 1984, Priscilla and Mike broke up. After their separation, Mike wrote a controversial book about their time together titled, “Priscilla, Elvis and Me,” which was a play off her book, “Elvis & Me.” The autobiography chronicles their seven years together and his never-ending quest to step up in the shadow of the king.
Priscilla, Elvis, and Me recounts juicy details from the passionate beginnings of their relationship to the difficult abortion of their child in an unintentionally funny, true-romance style. In the book, Michael shares that their relationship was haunted by the dead singer’s ever-present spirit and that, in combination with Edwards’ drinking, womanizing, growing attraction to teenage Lisa, and Priscilla’s budding career as a TV actress estranged the pair and ultimately led to their final break-up.
