Diagonally behind the famous TV house, and among other historic homes was the first home of Broadway composer Jerry Herman. The main living area gave way at the time to an Oceanfront view. Here sat Jerry’s piano where many of those famous Broadway showtunes were inspired.

Here Jerry entertained the likes of Carol Channing, Angela Lansbury, Betty Grable, Martha Raye, to name just a few.

Home is where the heart is…

Jerry made the Pines his home, and he involved himself in community events like the Fashion Show, and attended many of the famous parties of the Pines.

Here Jerry celebrates his 40th Birthday at the house with friends including a bikini clad Angela Lansbury.

1982

A room with or without a view…

In 1977

Jerry sold the double lot in front of the home that he owned to Shilo Adir and his family. They built their home which then obstructed the view.

The Jerry Herman home interior had an open floor plan. You could still see the ocean in between the Adir home and TV house.

He sold the home in the late 70’s opting for a California vacation home, but returned to the Pines in 1987 this time buying a bayside home…
