From the Pines with Love 1990

After the success of the first “From the Pines with Love” benefit in 1985 it was decided to have another. Beginning with a dinner at the home of Annette and Herbert Katzin. Chaired again by John Whyte with huge community support. Benefitting CRI Community Research Initiative.
Medical Director of CRI Bernard Bihari spoke after the dinner of their fight against AIDS. The following night was a cocktail party at the home of Jeff Mulham. Chippendales Michael Rapp did the introductions with comedienne Jaime deRoy , and the highlight of the weekend was a concert with singer Melissa Manchester.

with Melissa Manchester, John Whyte. There was also a raffle at a $100.00 a ticket for a Nissan Infinity Q45 which was floating on a barge in front of the Blue Whale. The artwork for the Pines with Love logo was done by fashion Illustrator Rodger Duncan
Melissa Manchester took the stage in a purple sequined dress, and then took the audience on a musical journey through her songbook. Manchester has a Fire Island history growing up visiting Ocean Beach as a child.
