As a resident DJ in Fire Island Pines for over 20 years DJ Chris Camuso brings an encyclopedia of knowledge of dance music to the floor weekly during season. In addition he creates our Halloween decor for the annual end of season Halloween party.
Beginnings…
A New Jersey florist by trade DJ Chris Camuso started DJing at an early age. From roller rinks to local clubs in New Jersey he came to Fire Island over 25 years ago straight from his residency as one of the original DJ’s at Stonewall NYC.

Fire Island
Stepping on the island in Cherry Grove, Chris started out as a regular guest DJ at the infamous Ice Palace. Submerging himself into the decadent Cherry Grove scene, it was no surprise that he became the resident at Sunsets on the Bay. The Groves premiere hotspot on the beautiful Great South Bay. When the owner of Sunsets took over Cherry’s, the islands other amazing bay side bar, Chris quickly became the Grove’s favorite DJ
Moving to the Pines
“The transition into Fire Island Pines was such an exciting opportunity” says Chris. With his background of success in Cherry Grove, his signature sound and energy landed him a guest night at the “Island Club” which today we all know as the “Sip N’ Twirl”. Making a name for himself in the Pines for five seasons, Chris was added to the DJ roster for Low Tea, High Tea, Middle Tea and Pavilion. With two seasons DJing on the harbor side, a fire ending the season 2011 turned the entire Pines harbor we all called home to an unreal scene of devastation. “My heart was broken” says Chris.
Returning to the Sip N’ Twirl to help rebuild this legendary island hotspot brought Chris back to where his residency still continues today. Chris also designs the annual Halloween party at Sip n Twirl as well as being the DJ for the event.
